The instructions
The marshamallow Eiffel tower of fettucini rods, the winner the tallest
built by none engineers (the team that had an engineer had a collapsed
tower hahahaha) Congratulations. Teams really produce results
While other team building activities were simply conducted as as a series of discrete events, last Saturday team building was woven around the stories about 4 pillars of leadership of Chris Lowney - self awareness, love, ingenuity, and heroism. (The MM team building was built around 6 na katitikan) This is a way of further reinforcing the leadership lesson of this course.
The post recalls that the following were conducted:
1. Cheer leading
2. The tallest tower built with fettucini rods and with marshmallow tower
3. The my glass overflows with paper clips
4. Reflection on who you are and what the significant others really think about you
4. The reflection on chicken a la carte and the commitment letter
Leadership subject at AGSB is an Ateneo advantage. It emphasizes leadership from within, authentic leadership. One of its pillars is love. This is odd in a cold steely corporate world. The others are heroism, ingenuity and self awareness. The goal of leadership is not only to develop oneself but to clone other leaders. Everybody has potential to be leader. What we do, even if we do not have followers influences/affects others. It is time to define Filipino leadership too

The handsome SS signage
We would do most of the team building activities here. The beautiful
scenery reflects the other beauty of Cebu
This post feels and thinks that every leadership subject must have practical leadership games exercises, outside the campus. Team building activities, when well planned and executed can achieve any or all of the following:
1. communication skills and processes
2. teamwork and bonding
3. problem solving skills
4. strategizing
And many leaders, even though they have become jaded corporate leaders/managers have been energized by team, building, and even those who have presided over team building activities. Each team building go through different direction because of different sites, participants and structures. And this team building was no exception
Thus after egging on the volunteers (by asking initially who have experience in teambuilding) our team building gurus Bryan Peter Evangelista an AVP Sales Director and formerly a training manager at PruLife, and Genevieve (a member of millionaires club in IL) came out with a plan in ppt which they submitted 3 days before last Saturday and which revolve around the 4 pillars of leadership. I had to extend my stay in Cebu because they say it may extend up to 8 o clock in the evening of Saturday
