  1. I have learned a great deal about t servant leadership, as for definition, it is the ability of a person to have a desire of serving first before leading. I believe I have that in me to be a servant leader and I’m interested to learn more so I may practice this in my daily life.I am pleased to learned that Nestle is one of the companies that practices Servant leadership. I’m curious to know and understand, how in our organisational practices this method to our organisational framework. in the teachings and influence of Buddha, it is said that we need to cultivate a happy relationship with the people that we love and interact with.Through redirection, we are to sought positive outlook with one other, allowing us to see others believe that they have our best interest at heart, even if we don't have any reason to believe otherwise. Thank you for this read prof.- Leader MM Alex

  2. Leaders are known for leading in front. Based from the slides, what struck me most was the fact that "a leader is best when people barely know he exists". He empowers others and make them feel that they have done it themselves. This reminded me of one of my mentors who was leading us in one of the projects yet after we accomplished the project, he made us feel like it was us who accomplished the project on our own. Thank you prof for sharing this. This is a great reminder for us leaders. I will continue to be a servant leader to my team.

  5. Servant leadership is rooted from a strong sense of awareness- internally and externally. Being able to genuinely accept the good things and flaws in your surroundings is an admirable trait. This develops overtime. The reading on the 10 principles serves as an inpiration that servant leaders are pro-people and pro-service. It is not selfish. It teaches us to be reach out and influence more people. Evidently, because of trust to develop self and others, just like Lao Tsu said, it empower followers to take a accountability. This is a relevant piece specially moving to the election season. Thanks Prof Jorge!

    1. We see these types of "soft" leadership vs fire and brimstone, command and control leadership. This is close to Chris Lowney/Ignatian leadership

  6. As a volunteer, advocate and practitioner of Social Enterprise, I can only agree with Servant Leadership. I have always been a believer that you can serve other people even if you do not hold a public office, or even if you do not own or lead a company. Leadership is not contained in a certain environment like corporations or government, rather it is a way of living. You lead to upraise other beings and help them, and this can be done in little ways, little as giving water to beggar in the street, or feeding a stray animal that you see on your way home. Little things can lead to big things, remember that a soaring eagle once an egg, once a small chick and has to struggle before he can rule the sky.

  7. I think leadership always starts in being of service to others. Everyone of us will see that someone will become a leader if he/she is being able to serve others. With this, we can see their convictions, passion or advocacy, and thus we can admire or follow what they are doing. Also, leading the group to growth is important. Not only one person enjoys the fruits or reward of the situation but the whole group, and this will bring out the leadership from each of the member of the group.
