At the start of the course, we had a debate, are leaders born, made, or are they transformed by the situation or crisis? A vacancy, a leadership vacuum creates a need for the leader, and whoever is there fill that deepest need. It is a never ending question that we all try to answer academically or in practice.
Then we had various assignments: defining moment which is under the idea that leader are transformed by events, by trials, by failures in life. Then we had enneagram and genogram under the title that leaders are born. We went through the readings because we also think that leaders can be made by education and training. The various group activities in the class highlighted the idea, especially team building and unstructured group activities. These games can make leaders(?) (Why are schools many HR doing a lot of these)
In the future sessions, we will discuss about advocacies external motivation for leaders.
The arrows around the circle that we journey towards being a better leader. Through spiritual exercises, through reflection, we can discover, by looking at the mirror we can be better me and better leader. IT IS ALL ABOUT BEING BETTER LEADER
Hi Prof! The wheel represents the overall makeup of a leader- of myself! I am sure everyone agrees with me that we are a combination of the three namely: born, made and transformed. Another realization about self awareness! Thank you po. God bless!
ReplyDeleteWe are always reminded of the first day debate....
DeleteLooking back the splitting of the three to create a debate and conflict would seem unfair. But that is a nagging question since the beginning of time
DeleteThank you Prof. Saguinsin for this image that captures the essence of leadership. I was amazed yesterday in our class discussion on how you integrated the past lessons and then introduced this image to us.
ReplyDeleteThis image reminds me of the "Personhood" image...that as persons, we have our Peripherals (Rewards, Titles, Recognitions, Possessions, Physical Attributes), which are exhaustible and can be measured; we also have our "Core" - the Center of our being - as a child of God. The Core is our dignity as person where LOVE resides; and it is inexhaustible, beyond measure, and it defines who we really are and makes us co-equal to one another.
More power to you, our Mentor in Leadership! God bless!
Leader Belle S. Katigbak

ReplyDeleteRight on Leader Charm. More power and success.
DeleteHi Prof! Just wanted to share what I read about the circle symbol - is a universal symbol with extensive meaning. It represents the notions of totality, wholeness, original perfection, the Self, the infinite, eternity, timelessness, all cyclic movement, and God. Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteThe wheel of leadership simply emphasize that there are three kinds of leaders- and this are born, made, and transformed.Wherever you belong this kind of leader,it is important that you have motivation for others to have a good leadership.
