Yesterday, we played the song/video Heal the World sung by Michael Jackson. The message which we tried to massage into our consciousness as we started the class yesterday was to give an answer the question "How to make the world a better place to live in?"
And yet paradoxically, there was a mass shooting at Oregon in USA where the gunman, because of lax gun control law, mowed down 10 Americans ages 18 to 30+ The gunman identified as Chris Harper, 26, was also killed in the firefight. 3 handguns, and an AR type of long gun was found at the scene.. It is the 15th during the term of Pres. Obama. And understandably Pres Obama, was angry over adamance of a Republican Congress to pass stricter gun control place.

Guide to mass shooting in USA for the last 30 years. Most of the guns were obtained legally
According to Pres. Obama, USA is the only civilized modern country unable to control violence from mass shootings. And he decried that his opponents will say Obama politicalized the event. Truly, it has to be politicalized, because it indeed is about the welfare of people.
How could a country, from where this song/video originated just focus on the right to carry arms, rather than caring for people who needlessly die from mass shooting.
