Heal the World Lyrics
This article is a continuation on the reflection regarding the generous donation made by husband wife Mark Zuckerberg of $45 billion to help make this world a better place to live in. All ready, Leader Izumi Yamashita has pledged as she becomes more successful as a investment banker to establish a foundation to help in improving education. In Clark, we have Dr Munoz, who said she practices Servant Leadership, to have a foundation to help the less fortunate She offered to assist anyone whom we know who are in need. Leader Cath Villanueva has a passion to help abandoned pets. This becomes clearer as we see more papers on Passion (that are not self directed but in the service of others) and FIP that are more formatted as personal strategic plan (hopefully SJ wishes us to be to be for love and heroism
Our passion should be the intersection of where are skills and resources are greatest, and needs of the world are greatest. May be like the Good to Great 3 circles (for the hedgehog concept)
Circle 2 at the left - What are your competencies and capacity? Where can you be the best at? Where are you good at? God gave you gifts to be made visible to others to help them.
Circle 3 at the right - What drives your resource engine? Do you have self sustaining business model to continue helping others? Do you have business whose core serves others as low cost health care? Do you have fortune large enough like Mark Z who will give everything to make the world better for his child Max?
Or are you like the woman who gave her last money to help others. She gave everything. This reminds us of the movie "In Pursuit of Happyness", Will Smith, lent the only $5 dollars he has in his wallet to his boss who has no change to pay for his taxi.
Reflection: (re donation of Mark Zuckerberg to the world)
1. This is the kind of thing we want our student leaders, to find out their passion, to fill in the needs of this world. This is what we want to address as we make our brainstorming (mind mapping). There is so much to be done that neither civil society nor business, nor government has addressed.
2. This is the area of concern of social entrepreneurship, where CSR and business principles meet.
3. This is the kind of passion, the right kind of passion, the calling that is nice to see among our business leaders in the likes of Bill Gates, Warrent Buffett, and now Mark Zuckerberg. The wealth and the gifts that they got, so huge are ultimately to be used for the benefit of mankind. All in keeping with Genesis,1:28. ie that we are all mandated to take care of the creation of this world. As we, like Mark are blessed to be in the corridor of wealth and power, we too find that ultimately, wealth must be used to benefit not just our personal wants and needs, but the world,
4. As with regards to his vision, mission in life one begins to think:
1. Did Mark start out with the idea that his mission is to help heal the world and/or make it better for future generation?
2. Was getting rich/very wealthy all ready a planned trajectory? Or was it serendipity?
3. Or was it the birth of his son Max, make him rethink his objective, mission in life. Now that that is clear to him, will he become richer, or will this new advocacy slow him down in his journey of wealth creation.
Are your purpose/s in life clear to you as of now?
We have a student in MM and Clark whose advocacies are very clear to them. Their higher purpose.
Our good doctor Leader in Clark has a foundation to send poor students, and even their maid to school. We have Cath espousing taking care of abandoned pets.
As I publish this post, I am pursuing in our organization, lower and affordable memorialization costs via cremation, BC rentals and the like. I would like to be given two more decades to live, so that whatever can be earned can be used in the pursuit of lower health care and simply helping others through a foundation, those who really have nothing - for food, fare, place to sleep, clothes, etc.
I have also an advocacy for low cost health care and cure. Thus, I maintain a blog. Cheapcures to help people with cheap remedies and preventive measures so as not to get sick. I also have a blog for entrepreneurship where free lessons on putting up a business are shared. I have 47 slides on various topics on business entrepreneurship and self development
In the past, I put up the Amado Saguinsin (my late father) Memorial Foundation which did the following:
1. Built a school building for HS students in our town
2. Donated books and other equipment to Angono National High School,
3. Sent poor but deserving students for college education in state colleges
4. Donated equipment and resources for fire fighting and rescue operations in equipment
5. Donated garbage trucks to municipalities
6. Donated for the repair, construction, and rehab of churches in various places
This call is from experience/life example, and merely an empty call for renewed passion to heal the world
HOW ABOUT YOU?
