What is my new learning from this exercise?

Taking into account the tests, I was identified with below types appearing to have my dominant characteristics.  Below are the traits that I think I really do have and applies in my everyday life:

Type 2 - The HELPER
- Love is the highest ideal. Selflessness is duty. Giving to others is the reason for being.
- Warm, emotional people who care a great deal about their personal relationships, devote an enormous amount of energy to them, and who expect to be appreciated for their efforts.
- Thoroughly convinced of their selflessness, and frequently genuinely helpful and concerned about others.
- Develop a sense of entitlement when it comes to the people closest to them. Because they have extended themselves for others, they begin to feel that gratitude is owed to them. Can become intrusive and demanding if their often unacknowledged emotional needs go unmet

Hi Prof.Jorge,

I'm resending my Enneagram test result with my reflections below..

You are most likely a type 9.
Taking wings into account, you seem to be a 4w5 or 9w8 or 9w1.
It is not clear from these test results which Enneagram type and wing you are.

To determine your true type, you might want to start by considering the types with the highest scores on the lists below. Also, there are many fine books and other websites that contain detailed descriptions of the types. Consulting these might give you the information you need to determine your true type. Dear Prof Jorge,

Attached is my Enneagram test results.  I got the same result since my first test with Ms. Rachel Consunji during one of our office workshops sometime in August.  I got Type 9 and it seems accurate on some aspects. It made me realize that our personality traits are not acquired by genes alone but a lot of circumstances.

This test enables us to understand that each individual has her/his positive and negative traits that we need to recognize for a better relationship in any form.  If we learn to take into consideration everyone's personality types, we would know how to handle our association with each personality types.

Yours Truly,
Analee Choco

<Hi Leader Analee, your reflection on this test result, ie that it is type 9?>

MM Enneagram Test Results - Shared by Leader May Roxas

Hi Prof Jorge,

I took two versions of this test and the top score for both is the same – I am a Nine – The Peacemaker. The result of the test affirmed most of the strengths and weaknesses that I have.

-          Most Nines are fairly easy going; they adopt a strategy of "going with the flow." They are generally reliable, sturdy, self-effacing, tolerant and likable individuals. Nines tend to adopt an optimistic approach to life; they are, for the most part, trusting people who see the best in others; they frequently have a deep seated faith that things will somehow work out.

-          They tend to avoid conflict at all costs, whether it be internal or interpersonal. As the potential for conflict in life is virtually ubiquitous, the Nine's desire to avoid it generally results in some degree of withdrawal from life, and many Nines are, in fact, introverted.

I also see it as a helpful tool in realizing what practices may help me as an individual:

-          Learn to recognize what YOU want from a given situation.  Often you will be so busy taking into account the positions of others that you will tend to neglect your own.  If necessary, do not be afraid to ask others to give you a moment to consider the options.  And do not be afraid to pursue the opinion you prefer it arises.

-          Learn the value of the word NO.  When presented with a proposition that you are uncomfortable with, it is better to make your misgivings known at the onset rather than silently agreeing and regretting it later.  Most people want to know what your real opinion or preference is – even if it seems unimportant to you at the time.

ENNEAGRAM EXERCISE
Taken September 7 and 8, 2015

After doing simulations, here are the results generated by the system:

The result indicate that I maybe a Type 2 with 3 wing. This is combination of The Helper and the Achiever.

I.  What are my new learnings from the Enneagram Test?

I am a Type 2 with a 3 wing: "The Helper Advocate"
My trifix is 2w3, 7w6, 9w1.

Descriptive results:

My core type (strongest type) is Type 2 with a 3 wing:
Type Two individuals are generous and kind. Twos love others and want to be loved, and becoming close to others is a theme in the life of the Two. This is why Two is often referred to as the Helper type – because they keep coming, time and time again, to the aid of others. Out of all the types in the Enneagram, Twos are the most likely to help someone when they're feeling down or when they're being attacked.

My second type (next strongest type) is Type 7 with a 6 wing: Type Seven individuals are energetic, engaging, and playful. They have a love for life and can easily jump from one exciting topic to the next. The Type Seven thought process is a bit scattered, but that's because they are easily interested in many different things.

My third type (the least-used of the three) is Type 9 with a 1 wing: Nines are receptive, easygoing, and loveable. Out of all the types in the Enneagram, they have a special ability to get along with others. For this reason, they're often skilled mediators, resolving conflicts both within themselves and among others. Nines value peace, especially inner peace, very highly.

Processing of learnings:

II.What are my new learnings from the Enneagram Test?

I am a Type 2 with a 3 wing: "The Helper Advocate"
My trifix is 2w3, 7w6, 9w1.

This is the first time I encountered this kind of personality test. I am very much fascinated with the articulations of each personality types specially the one which best described me- "The Helper Advocate"

I really didn't know what this means until I tried relating myself with the descriptions.
After reflecting on the results and simple self-assessment, they were in fact relative to what I am now.

Traits that generally describes me: relaxed, peaceful, harmonious, generous, helpful, selfless, loving, enthusiastic, energetic, spontaneous, fun.

If to rank these traits, I would reflect on it this way:
1.       Helpful
2.       Harmonious/ peaceful
3.       Enthusiastic/ energetic
4.       Fun (but relaxed)

From where I stand in the organization right now, we need a lot of Helper Advocates.

I took the Enneagram test twice.  My first take was 2 weeks ago after we discussed that one of the Pillars of a Good Leader is self-awareness. As from what I have read from Chris Lowney's book Heroic Leadership,

"Loyola walked away with deep self-understanding, able to pinpoint his flaws with greater maturity and accuracy than ever before, yet at the same time, able to appreciate himself as a uniquely dignified and gifted person in a world that seemed more positive that it did when he entered Manresa."

I told myself that with the help of this self-assessment, I can also unlock my leadership potential.

The result of my Enneagram test was 3w2. And I was satisfied with it.  In fact, that is how I see myself---an Achiever who is competitive, highly focused, self-confident, driven, generous and likable.

I consider myself fortunate for being able to live the life that i want.  My parents raised me well and gave me the best education.  I became a flight attendant where I was paid a huge sum to travel. I got married to the man  I truly love, have children, own a house, was able to save enough for early retirement, and now, I am in graduate school pursuing my MBA.  For some, they can say that my accomplishments are pure luck.  For me, I shall say that my zest for life is attributed, first and foremost, to God's blessings and secondly, because I was "born" with a Type 3w2 personality.

I agree with the results of my enneagram test.  It somehow describes my personality type.  I am listing below the summary of my personality:

Type 2w3: more aggressive, but aggressive seduction
Healthy Points: Caring, compassionate, generous, loving
Unhealthy Points: martyr-like, possessive,
Vice: Pride
Virtue: Humility
Leadership Style:  For the Welfare of the group
Working Styles:   Helper
Career Preferences: HR Officer

It also surprises me that the career preference for my type of personality coincides with my current position now - as HR Officer.

I am considering the following to help others as my personality suggests:
help others to be aware of their feelings
     acknowledge their needs
     assure them
     help them express their needs

Also, after taking the enneagram test and knowing my unhealthy points / weaknesses, I also would like to practice the following:
I will not be so concerned about what others think about me.
I will learn to recognize the affection and good wishes of others even they are not in terms I am familiar with.
I will work on my pride by acknowledging that I am loved.

This test somehow is helpful in being a better leader.  Being a good leader, we must be aware of our strengths and weaknesses and how to deal with it.
<Great to be more self aware>

Maricon P. Bangayan

What is my new learning from this exercise?

This activity enabled me to confirm and rediscover my strengths and weaknesses, in a deeper level. Such that, I was able to step back, reassess myself, and be fully conscious of how my strength can also be weakness or trouble point, or how my weakness can be transformed into something positive.  The top 3 personality types above, really do describe who I am, or who I strive to become.

As I was reading the interpretations of each of my personality type—the explanations/interpretations reinforced my understanding about myself. I was able to comprehend my normal inclinations for acting or reacting in certain ways, given particular circumstances.
