Why are some national leaders successful? - Teditorial

'Quamplurimi et quam aptissimi" (As many as possible of the very best)

Fmr Cong. Teddy Locsin newspaperman and a commentator at ANC, last night cited the 6 important needs of citizens:     health, food,  education,  job, homes, freedom from crimes, in that order. One has health because he has food.  When one has food, he can study, and when he studies he can have a job, and later on a home and he needs peace and order so that none of the five can be taken away from the individual.

Singaporean Leader Lee Kuan Yew was able to provide all of these Singaporean that is why he is considered successful.  Not because he is a disciplinarian, nor well educated lawyer from Cambridge or that he has charisma.  So this is a bit tricky because this is patronizing, and feudal and very political very poor people

And which reminds me dimly of what Zig Ziglar said as secret of sales success -  "You can have everything in life if you will just help enough people to get what they want

Thus those who failed to provide instant food and health assistance and shelter to Yolanda victims  in Samar and Leyte are likely to draw the ire of voters, or those who do not mind the MRT which gives problems jobs people's job.  Or those who has not built a hospital during his term.  The 'laglag bala which harms peoples security will not draw votes.

One of the candidates gives free medical care to the tune of P8 million a month at a large medical center and takes care of peace in order albeit in ruthless and Machiavellian manner.  But this falls under the purview of the Teditorial. VP Binay  who did a good job in Makati answering the 6 needs of the people  and probably in housing should be rising in the surveys
