Final Integrative Paper - Leader Cezar Cortez

We started the class by definition of LEADERSHIP. If you search the internet; you will see numerous definitions from different experts, gurus, business leaders, academic scholars, Saints, religious group, politicians etc… Their definition of leadership is the mirror of their EXPERIENCE in life. That is why there are never ending definitions of Leadership. We can produce many words to describe leadership. My definition of leadership might be different from the other. Leadership for me is leading with passion and constantly examining oneself before making a decision.
There is also different kind of leaders. Some may say their leadership qualities are BORN, others MADE and SITUATIONAL. Because of the fact that we are created differently by God Almighty. We have all different potential and defining moments that transform as to a kind of leader we are at the moment. We can also trace our individual leadership style from our ancestors. Physical features and traits are being inherited from the previous generations of our family. This is a proven scientific process that scientist and medical practitioners consider in identifying certain behaviors or sickness of a person.

Reflection Paper no. 3 - Leader Cezar Cortez

What is your passion (what is it that you love doing)?  How is it reflected in your work, daily life, and life's journey?
I started my life being exposed to helping less fortunate people. My parents have been very active in providing help to anyone in need. Even up to now; my mother even at her 80's still have its way of helping. It is probably the reason why I am always in a situation where I need to help somebody.

When I was 10 years old I already experienced rescuing our relatives from the flood caused by typhoon way back in the 80's. The sounds of the raging brown water still lingers in my mind up to this time. My brothers carry the belongings of our cousins to safety while I hold the hands of our Aunt to make sure that she will not slip in the creek and get washed away by the water. We fought our fears at the moment just to save the lives and some properties of our relatives.
In my 1st year in high school; I'm on my way to school. A well-dressed Chinese-Filipino guy (his accent is more Chinese) approached me and ask me if I have money because somebody stole his wallet and he has no money going back to Capas, Tarlac. Without any hesitation; I gave him my 3 days allowance. When I went home I told my mother about the incident and she just smile without saying anything and walked away. The next day she gave me the same amount that I gave to the Chinese-Filipino guy. At least she really believed in my story.
