My Genogram - Leader Jenieryll Jomarie Mangalindan

Hi Prof Jorge,
Sharing with you and the class my genogram.

My Genogram
Leader Jenieryll Jomarie Mangalindan

As a child, my family has been close both to my father and mother’s side.  We were staying on my father’s hometown in Tarlac when we grade school but eventually move to my mother’s side in Antipolo during our high school days and stayed there up to now.  In writing my genogram I directly call my grandparents on both sides, this exercise made me realize that I know little about their life.  Back in the days when I was still young, my cousins and I would hear our grandparents telling their story over and over again but we were too young to really appreciate it.  But now, I’ve realized that everyone’s life story is beautiful and there’s a lot of learning that we can take note of.

After some time it’s only this week that I called my grandparents again, and they were very happy to hear from me.  I realized they are getting old already and I should pay them some visit really soon.  The call ended them saying “I love you” which I replied with “Love you too”.  We never really had this kind of talk before and it feels good to tell them you love them.  After the call, I’ve learned a lot about my family’s history

Roots (Genogram) of Leader Karen Kay L. Guanzon

MY GENOGRAM
Karen Kay L. Guanzon

Mother Side:

My Grandparents:

> Felix Diamson Lapid – Born in Sta. Rita Pampanga. We call him "Apo". His parents were both teachers. Apo also became a teacher; he is a music teacher at Sta. Rita Central School. His students say that he is very strict when teaching; he always brings a stick in the class. My mother told me that he was very strict not only in school but also in the house. He died because of Cancer.

> Remedios De jesus Lapid – Born in Sta. Rita Pampanga. Her mother is a landowner for farming. We call her "ima". She was undergraduate. My mom said that on my ima's time there were only few who finish schooling. She is a dressmaker who loves making the same dresses for my mom and me. She is a very caring grandmother; she helped on taking care of most of her apos. For a while she lived in our house to take care of me because both of my parents were busy on their businesses. She died because of heart attack.
