September 19, 2015

In the faculty meeting for the Management and Marketing Department headed by Dr George Fong, the new grading system  was announced:

1.  the lowest grade is now 2;  anything lower is a 0 or F

2.  any withdrawal from a subject without authorization is an F;

3.  The INC grade is only good for 20 days after which the Registrar changes this to F (0)

4.  The faculty has 7 days within which to submit the grades.

The clusters are now renamed Departments and was cut from 7 to only four:  two secretaries are assigned to be in charge of two departments each

        Prof Bong Osorio, the famous writer and com arts and ads expert, Dr. Fong and Dr. del Carmen

                                     Pascual CEO and Prof Danny B

1.  HR and leadership    led by Dr. Mars Balgos

2.  Marketing and Management -  led by Dr. George Fong

3.  Operations and IT -   headed by Mr. Ralph Ante

4.  Economics and Research by Ms. Pingol

Finance, IT, Marketing were absorbed so we no longer hear about Prof Ely Aurellado for finance, Dr. Lydia King for IT; and Prof Nene Soriano for marketing.  The changes saw the loss of some good professors which it is hoped will be for the better.  The admission standards were levelled up resulting in lesser enrollees but as school managers will result in better quality graduates.

There is a question on my home department because I used to teach entrepreneurship but I now teach Leadership under HR.

But challenges were thrown before me.  I told the Chairman in the meeting that under Col Sibal we had studies on Social Entrep, on Corporate Entrepreneurship, International Entrepreneurship but really never got of the ground.  Having more interaction, or speeches by Corporate Leaders in the Campus would enhance business education of students and alumni.  The department could spearhead this
