My long experience at AGSB was teaching entrepreneurship. I wanted to leave a legacy by teaching young and old business graduate students to become entrepreneurs and better business managers. I have three sites which you can visit for more knowledge.

Self Development and Awareness

Leadership subject at AGSB is an Ateneo advantage. It emphasizes leadership from within, authentic leadership. One of its pillars is love. This is odd in a cold steely corporate world. The others are heroism, ingenuity and self awareness. The goal of leadership is not only to develop oneself but to clone other leaders. Everybody has potential to be leader. What we do, even if we do not have followers influences/affects others. It is time to define Filipino leadership too

Decision Making, Critical Analytical Thinking, and Conflict Resolution
'Quamplurimi et quam aptisimi" (As many as possible of the very best)
AGSB Clark,
August 13, 2015
Many of our leaders mentioned in the Learning Agreement that they wanted to know more about the subject matter, as one of their objectives in enrolling in this course. They are challenging tasks, and can be learned on a day to day basis as we go on leadership journey. How we wish we had crystal balls to predict what the future will be and to decide amidst chaos. They say that all strategies (decision) melt in the heat of battle. Even in the military where the lieutenants are supposed to follow strictly orders, they are trained to think for themselves in the ever changing battle situation. Increasingly we have to rely on the ability of leaders and their followers to learn to think and do for themselves when left alone.

In decision making, I was reminded of the constant phone calls made by my father (when he was still alive) to me and he did this daily, and I was sort of sometimes irritated because I had a feeling of self righteousness. I was then mature, had an MBA and who was he to to advise me on so many things. When he died, I missed his phone calls, and his talk. That is the big question: when your elders are gone, how will you decide? Where will get your strength and wisdom? That is the big question. I wish this this class, this post can give you the answer. But you must search for this, as each situation the persons around us are unique.

The call to faster internet speed (yet cheaper) by Leader Cezar Cortez somehow found an answer
'Quamplurimi et quam aptisimi" (As many as possible of the very best)
AGSB Clark, Angeles City
August 9, 2015
Prof Jorge, Lulu, Sen Aquino and Dr. Lydia King
Today, I attended the graduation ceremonies at Irwin Theater in Ateneo Grade School compound. Some 300 MBA graduates in Health, MM, Standard, Entrepreneurship, Regis programs received their diplomas. One year hence, this Lecturer wish its your turn to march to the stage to receive your diplomas
The guest speaker was Senator Bam Aquino, who is an Atenean also, a Summa Cum Laude, and class valedictorian and is well known for his Hapinoy Social Entrepreneurship project.
I understand that there is a news article about him and his investigation of the very slow internet speed in the Philippines. This was the subject of the speech of our Leader Cezar Cortez last Friday
for which I made a post today Leader Cortez on slow internet speed in the Philippines

Wheel of Leadership
'Quamplurimi et quam aptisimi" (As many as possible of the very best)
This lecturer improved the drawing made last Friday. The wheel summarizes what has been discussed in the class. The call to leadership stems from the inner authentic self. Motivation emanates from within, who you are. This is related to Emotional Intelligence - the ability to motivate and regulate self and as a result the ability to motivate others too.
At the start of the course, we had a debate, are leaders born, made, or are they transformed by the situation or crisis? A vacancy, a leadership vacuum creates a need for the leader, and whoever is there fill that deepest need. It is a never ending question that we all try to answer academically or in practice.
Then we had various assignments: defining moment which is under the idea that leader are transformed by events, by trials, by failures in life. Then we had enneagram and genogram under the title that leaders are born. We went through the readings because we also think that leaders can be made by education and training. The various group activities in the class highlighted the idea, especially team building and unstructured group activities. These games can make leaders(?) (Why are schools many HR doing a lot of these)
In the future sessions, we will discuss about advocacies external motivation for leaders.
The arrows around the circle that we journey towards being a better leader. Through spiritual exercises, through reflection, we can discover, by looking at the mirror we can be better me and better leader. IT IS ALL ABOUT BEING BETTER LEADER

Prof Jorge Life Story and Defining Moments
'Quamplurimi et quam aptisimi" (As many as possible of the very best)
Jorge Saguinsin at Slideshare
One of our activities for the second session is drawing our lifeline and sharing this with the friend. I appreciate that some of you will upload this to share with those outside the classroom so that they will be instructive and inspirational to others.
I wrote this as a guide/template for our activity today
1. Born to a poor couple, Mother was an elementary graduate, Father was high school graduate, a laborer at a provincial govt office. They were both children of farmer and fisherman Grew in a place that was not ours (now called informal settlers)
2. Exposed early to many challenges. very early in life Mother planted rice, did laundry for others, etc. Ate "bakaw" fish and shrimp scrounged from seashells (suso) to be fed to ducks at fish port, riverbanks. Helped mother with duck, chicken, and pig raising. Had to lift cement bags when we went into cement retailing. Accompanied trucks drivers to cement deliveries when there were bulk deliveries
3. Graduated with honors at elementary. This gave me a test of being a winner and can do attitude.
