Let us situate ourselves with this course on The Call for Leadership:
What we have taken so far.
1. On day 1 we had a basic understanding of what leadership is all about via debate: Are leaders born, made, or are transformed (situational) Each of the team defended their sides very well. Posted by this lecturer were various theories on leadership: Leadership from Within, Dangers of Leadership, 4 pillars of Leadership by Lowney
2. Then there was an assignment on defining moment. How does this relate to Day 1 debate - ie that Leaders are transformed by Defining Moments. The hard facts of life teaches you to be a leader. (Leaders are made or are transformed)
3. Then we had exercise on leadership journey . My Life Story. Done with triads and Joseph Campbell and his monomyth and your life story ( Leaders are made with various twists and turns in life. Ordinary life, call to adventure, etc)
4. Then we had Enneagram which is to be discussed in depth today plus the Genogram. What are Enneagram and Genogram all about? Leadership within. That you have traits that make you a leader. (However, in Enneagram, there is a thesis there that your goal is to be a leader. You can be made transformed into a leader. Whether you agree with Joseph Campbell, or with Enneagram, the point being emphasized here is that there are inherent traits in Leaders that either you have or you dont. (Again this is debateable as we have debated on Day 1. Some Leaders disagreed that even in stories or moviesdid not follow Joseph Campbell monomyths - they are myths). Geneogram is another exercise, experience on Leaders are born....(My story does not conform to this thesis. How about your life
The above activities are all part of self awareness, which is an important part of Ignatian Leadership. and or the idea leadership emanates from within. (We will come to that. Leadership as a passion. You must eagerly enthusiastically passionately desire to be a leader)
2. What are going to do on July 24, 2015?
4 Following the leader GW Enneagram Submit and share enneagram in class
2. The group work is challenging. Your group will be given an hour to come up with something. Anything.

We know of many relatives but they were not related to Maria
My mother: Teresita
She was orphaned at an early age. She was in the elementary during WWII and we are not sure as to whether she finished her elementary. She was frugal, very hard working and ambitious. She did not want us to experience her hardship. She laundered clothes for others, planted rice, and did many odd jobs so that we would be fed and educated.
She eventually finished her HS when were of school age. Sabay kaming nag grade 1 at siya First Year. That was the paying forward of my father who became lawyer due to the effort of my mother.

Amado Victor - the youngest son. I do not know if he graduated. Became a councilor and Vice Mayor of our town (with the family business support)
Conclusion:
As you can see, the thesis that Leaders are born into a family does not hold much truth for me. If I followed their genes and situation in life, I would be just another guy. But that I was inspired by my uncle June Medina to be somebody else in the future, to be ambitious, is extrinsic for me. I am just another student of the academic aspect of leadership. What does your genogram tell about your success.? Were you born or were you developed
Professor , I salute your humble beginning and your driving force to become a leader. I am sure you must have Tahoe GENES of a leader which you will also pass on to the ext generations. Thank you Prof for sharing your genogram
