Synposis:
When slick sports agent Jerry Maguire (Tom Cruise) has a crisis of conscience, he pens a heartfelt company-wide memo that promptly gets him fired. Desperate to hang on to the athletes that he represents, Jerry starts his own management firm, with only single mother Dorothy Boyd (Renee Zellweger) joining him in his new venture. Banking on their sole client, football player Rod Tidwell (Cuba Gooding Jr.), Jerry and Dorothy begin to fall in love as they struggle to make their business work.
1)THE HERO IS INTRODUCED IN HIS ORDINARY WORLD.

Jerry is shown in the movie as a hi profile sports agent, pioneer of Sports management Inc. (SMI), he helped to put up. He is doing well and the company has over 1600 clients in the US.
2) THE CALL TO ADVENTURE

One day, one of his clients, a foot ball player, suffered a concussion, head injury, this was his 4th. His son was not happy about it and asked Jerry when will his father stop from getting hurt. He told him, his father is just ok and he still needs another 5th season to get a big pay. The football player's son got mad at his answer and walked away with him with an angry face.

That night, he was changed. He thought of what the boy said. He suddenly wanted to change the Mission of SMI. He wanted to put CARE and responsibility for their clients. FEWER CLIENTS. LESS MONEY. He wrote a 25 page manuscripts and photocopied 120 copies and gave each employee the following day a copy.
3) THE HERO IS RELUCTANT AT FIRST.
The following day, everybody in SMI got a copy. He was greeted with enthusiasm at first and he felt quite good, little did he know they were about to throw him out.

They fired him and took most of his clients from him. Only 2 clients were left who agreed to stay with him- Cush, a promising football player who's father is a good friend of Jerry, and Rod Tidwell, a black football player not so popular, but cares mostly about getting paid big bucks.
5) THE HERO PASSES THE FIRST THRESHOLD.
When the 2 players agreed to stay with him, he was very happy and got the energy to start all over again.

6) THE HERO ENCOUNTERS TESTS AND HELPERS.
He left the company, but when he left, he asked everyone who is willing to go with him and start the new company he would like to envision to be more caring and responsible. Only one had the courage to go with him- Dorothy, an accountant, a single mother. She believed about the memo and she wanted to standby for him. It was a very humiliating and depressing scene. Dorothy became his only employee. He eventually became his wife. The company who he helped built has thrown him away just because he wanted CHANGE!

7) THE HERO REACHES THE INNERMOST CAVE
When finally he wanted to get the commitment of Cush and his father, he was betrayed by his former boss, Bob Sugar. Bod Sugar got Cush and his father to sign a contract and leave Jerry. This crushed him.

8) THE HERO ENDURES THE SUPREME ORDEAL.
He was left with only one client, Rod Tidwell, who initially wanted only more money. Rod is a family man, his wife loved him very much. In the movie, they showed Rod as a caring person who will do anything to make his family happy.

Jerry supported Rod all the way. He was present in all his games. Rod eventually did very well during the season and he was eventually noticed by fans and the media.
Jerry was preoccupied with managing Rod that he lost time with his wife. His wife felt unloved and did not see that Jerry is committed in their marriage. He asked for divorce. This again crushed him because Jerry hates to be alone but is bad in intimacy and commitments as shown with his previous relationships.

9) THE HERO SIEZES THE SWORD.
Jerry and Rod were unstoppable. Rod played very well and fans loved him.

10) THE ROAD BACK.
However, during a very exciting game, Rod suffered a bad fall from catching the ball. He was not moving for several minutes and everyone was scared. Jerry run to his aide but can't do anything. Doctors were helping him but had no response. Jerry called his wife and tried to calm her. This is exactly what he feared, his client will get injured and life will be different.

After a few minutes, a miracle happened, suddenly Rod moved and jumped! This surprised everybody, the crowd was ecstatic! Jerry got relief and that moment the two became superstar of the game!

Cush and Bob Sugar saw this and felt envious of Jerry. Cush was amazed how Jerry took care of Rod and saw the different relationship of Jerry to his player.

11) RESURRECTION.
This was exactly what Jerry wanted, more care, more responsibility, even though it will be less money for the company.
He had his time. And people who did not believe him saw this.
12) RETURN WITH THE ELIXIR.

He was elated but he felt incomplete. He cannot share his newfound happiness. He went away from the scene and went home to his wife. And the famous line of the movie moved the audience: You complete me. Jerry expressed his love to his wife, that no matter how happy he was, it wasn't felt because she was not there with him. His wife uttered the most "you had me at hello", she loved him unconditionally.

n Jerry Maguire acknowledged his strengths (social network, successful lawyer/agent, money, connections, many clients) and weaknesses ( lack of care for clients, failure to sustain intimacy, trust, true friends)

n Proposed change in the mission of the company, basically from conscience, to put more care and responsibilities to clients, in effect will produce LESS CLIENTS, LESS MONEY
n This proposal lead to his removal from the company he helped to put up
Love
n He loves his clients, his friends, his job. At the end, he wanted to share his new found happiness with his true love- his wife- his family.
Heroism
n He was the hero of the only client who stuck with him and eventually brought back the glory that was lost.
Relation to my Life Story
n At the journey of my life, I encountered difficulties and tragedies. Acknowledging my strengths and weaknesses in the process made me a stronger person.
n I embrace innovations, changes, in my own field in Medicine, in my social sphere, in the new technologies (internet, Facebook, social media), and in families relationship.
n I wanted to be a hero for my patients, my friends and my family.
n And most importantly, I live everyday loving life, loving people and loving God who is my guide and light.
