Happy Immaculate Conception Day

Today is supposed to be a Holiday for Ateneo community.

Yesterday, there was an interview of tennis superstar Rafael Nadal who would play exhibition game in Manila.  When he was interviewed,   he said that it is not about beating your opponent but about beating yourself to be better in your sports.  This we learned from Tiger Woods. Although he was a champion all ready at a certain point, he felt he was to improve still on his swing.

That is an important lesson because many superstar feel that they have no more world to conquer, no more room for improvement if you have beaten the best.  People like Rafael Nadal who never stop improving and learning are the stuff that make leaders and great persons and athletes. Even worse are people who remain as they are from the beginning, today, and possibly in the future.  No goals, no ambition, no effort to change.  Or those who rose and then who leveled off when they felt they have achieved a measure of success

This afternoon, I met a herbolario and I did not know he was a well known herbolario.  I accompanied a neighbor to a friend who is a herbalist and who has a history of making other people well. This neighbor who is sick has given hope on the Western doctors and medicine who could not find something wrong with him.  I asked him why he joined us and he said he wants to learn more on the trade. I learned that he has gone around the country, studied under other herbolarios, bought books on herbolario and healing.  He has not stopped learning and being the best on where he is good at - being a herbolario, a herbalist.  He joined us as we visited another fellow so that he could learn more

How about you?  Are you like Rafa Nadal or this herbolario.?

"Of all the rooms, the biggest is the ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT!!"

Being the best always.  Always Be ing.
