I remembered my Lolo asking me what I want to eat. Unfortunately, during that time I was not in a good mood and I don't want to go to school so I told my Lolo "lechon". I know that it would be difficult to get me lechon in the morning but my Lolo was very creative he said, "Ok" and went to the refrigerator to get something. When he returned, he gave me a bottle of lechon sauce. I remembered him for his creativity and being solution oriented.

CONCLUSION:

Doing this activity gave me goose bumps. I wasn't aware that in our family most of them are entrepreneurs. I am also not aware that we have teachers and community builders in the family. I am now aware where I got my interest in learning and sharing from. It is really important to know ones roots. I enjoyed rekindling the stories and rich memories I had with my grandparents while reflecting. My love for learning came from my Mom and my looks came from my Dad. Seriously after I became aware of our genogram, I realized that I came from a family with skilled hands and noble hearts. I came from a family that started small and with God's grace now living a better life. I also noticed that even though Math is not my favorite subject I still ended up enjoying it. Looking at my genogram, I now understand why.

As the eldest in the family, I took the role of being the father of the family. I was forced to be responsible for my two younger brothers. The value that I hold on to is my love for my family. I prioritize my family and this affects my major decisions in life.

I need to improve on my being insensitive to others. This has been a constant struggle and I am continuously doing my best to improve on this. Being insensitive or somewhat emotionless was my way of coping from the trauma I got when my father left us.

My strength is my faith in God. This has been shared to us by my Mom. I saw how she was able to conquer the challenges. Her trust in God was the key and she was my role model.

Though there seems to be some parts of my genogram that is unknown, I wouldn't let that affect me and my family. My goal is to stop any bad cycle that is happening within our family and continue to create a great culture for the future of our clan.

Knowing one's genogram is important as it helped me understand myself better. I will pursue my passion which is to inspire, educate, and motivate. I was born with this mission in my heart. I got this burning desire from my family. I will be using my new found knowledge to my advantage towards my journey to leadership.
