Synopsis of  "Clash of the Titans" which is a war between man and the gods. Involving Zeus, Hades and Poseidon. Zeus and Poseidon gain power from the prayers of humans but Hades learns another way: fear. Perseus was found by a fisherman in a coffin adrift in the sea with his dead mother. He was raised by the fisherman as his own son. Years later, Perseus and his family witnessed a group of soldiers from Argos destroying a statue of Zeus as a declaration of war against the gods. Hades massacred the soldiers and eventually killing the family of Perseus. He was brought to Argos by surviving soldiers. Lo, his watchful guardians informed him of his celestial origins, being the son of Zeus. A demigod. When Zeus brother Hades wiped out Persues family, the grieving son vows to the gods just what kind of damage human kind can inflict on its creators. Persues and a small group of soldiers ventured out into the desert in order to find a way to stop the Kraken, a knifing force of nature that Hades has vowed to unleash upon Argos should they fail to offer up the beloved princess , Andromeda as a sacrifice. Along the way , the soldiers encountered the frightening witches, fought with Hades devoted servant Calibos, battled giant scorpions and came face to face with Medusa, beheaded by Perseus. Ridng the black Pegasus, Persues arrived at Argos and exposed Medusa's head to Kraken, which was slowly turned to  stone and collapsed. Saving Andromeda and Argos. Hades was also sent to the underworld. Perseus did not accept kingdom of Argos offered by the Princess.
According to Joseph Campbell, we are all heroes in a way.  A living myth. The myth is the symbolic reflection of our lives. Everyone is a hero on his birth, undergoing a tremendous transformation from living in the realm of the amniotic fluid. Then coming out as an air breathing mammal then ultimately self standing and self fought in an enormous transformation.  Just like Perseus, a born demigod. Initially he never knew  of his celestial origin until the hero was called to adventure by some external event. From the death of his family, to his exposure to Hades, to stopping Kraken with Medusa and eventually saving  Princess Andromeda and Argos.
I was also born in the province of Masbate in Visayas where I was treated extravagantly. My childhood life was so easy, everything is provided with a silver spoon.  These events changed reversibly when we were transferred to Pampanga. It seems my very experience in this part of  the world was a great sacrifice. No more easy life. It seems we don't have an own place where I can enjoy my life. I am depended on the help of my grand parents and other relatives. But during this time that it was inculcated in my mind that I would become a rich doctor, whatever it would take.  So I studied hard. But I never remembered  that God provided doctors the gift of healing just like the wisdom He gave to the lawyers. It is a reality that we don't acknowledge that such gifts comes from God. Instead for the Blessor to be glorified, men are glorified.
The calling of becoming a rich doctor provided the call of adventure. Putting me in a situation trying to save myself and initiating a story of a hero. God allowed this to happen in my life from my schooling, to my training, to marrying my wife and having a family and so on.
To be a hero, Perseus save Princess Andromeda and Argos. He was provided a great help by the small group of soldiers and his watchful guardian, Lo. He also sent Hades back to underworld.
In my part, it is my lovely wife who is helping me in achieving my vision, goals and dreams. She is the big reason why I am becoming a hero. Just like Lo, the guardian of Perseus. She serves as my loyal companion. She reintroduced God back to my life. Because God's unending grace of mercy, He allowed us to see His kindness that we, as doctors, may we be able to repent and turn back to Him.
While I am writing this, my wife is cooking.  If she were to offer me a handful of vegetable shortening to eat for lunch, I will definitely say " No Thanks." The same would be true if she offered me a cup of flour, powder or shortening. But when she puts these ingredients in the mixing bowl with others, works them all together, and places the mixture in the heat of  the oven for a while, then it is a different story.
That's what God does with our lives. He works together a blend of good times and tough times, and He knows the exact mixture that is good for us. We go through the fires of tribulation, and when the process is complete, we are better people for it. The secret is to realize what God is doing and glory in tribulations, to respond with thanksgiving and joy 3
