Call to Arms- Stephanie Go

Hi Prof! Just sharing the content of my call to arms. Thank you!

Be More by Making a Difference
by Rae Stephanie Go

According to Mary Kay Ash, there are three types of people in this world. First, those who wondered what happened. Mostly, this is the group of people who does not have a dream, who does not have any direction in life, and opts to just wastes his or her time just passing by in this world. Second, those who watch things happen. They are those who have lots of dreams but have many excuses not to attain it such as lack of time, money, or resources. They are those who normally say "I could have done this, only if I have more time or more money to do so". Third, those who make things happen. They are those who go beyond dreaming, who go beyond working, and those who go beyond existing. They are those who constantly seek their purpose as they intentionally make a difference in the lives of other people.

Many times, we tend to neglect something that we can do and try to do something we cannot do, to focus on what we do not have and waste whatever we actually have. That's why there are some who become oblivious to what is happening around them or some become content to just watch things happen in the lives of other people around them. In Romans 8:28, which is one of my life verses, it says "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love Him, to those who are called according to His purpose". Everyone has a purpose in this life. Everyone has his or her own unique talent. Everyone has 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. And, no one has more than that. It's not about how much we have or how much we do that matter; it's about how much we get things done to make a difference in the lives of other people that matter the most.

Let's not allow our situation to dicate who we can be or what we can do. Some would say that "I will die poor because I was born poor. But, sabi nga nila "Di mo kasalanan ng ipanganak kang mahirap, pero kasalanan mo na kung mamatay kang mahirap". Some may have more wealth, knowledge, skills, and connections than the others. But, whatever the situation or field we are in whether in business, academe, medicine, or others, whatever that we have or do not have, each one of us has an opportunity to make a difference in accordance to His purpose. Life is a journey of continuously getting to know what God has in stored for us. It is up to us if we will respond to that. It is up to to us if we will make a difference. It is up to us who we want to become.

So, who do you want to be? someone who wonders what happened, someone who watches things happen, or someone who makes things happen. That is a choice for us to make.

As John L. Mason wrote in his book "An Enemy called Average",
Do more than dream. Do.
Do more than exist. Live.
Do more than just live. Live for Jesus.

And with that, we'll surely make a difference. Thank you and good evening!
