Leadership Reflection 2 External Factors that Shaped you to be a Leader by Leader Rophelle O

Reflection Paper 2
Leader: Rophele Louie C. Ocampo 3
What shaped me to become the Leader I am now?
A.      External – What are family, environments, school and you work experience that shaped you today?
B.      Internal – Your values, strength, weakness and how they affect on how you decide and act
C.      How do they prepare you for your future challenges?
Family and the Environment
I grew up in a middle class family. Both of my parents came from a poor family, they struggled themselves through having finished their education despite of the many challenges most especially when it comes to financial. They did it for their family, and for themselves, and for us, to be alleviated from their current situation or at least improve their lives.
My parents have instilled to me that education is very important. Since we are not rich, all they can give to me is a good education so I must treasure it. I am grateful that my parents have raised me well. Even though they are busy making a living for they did not forget to teach and prepare and guide me in the different obstacle in our life.
As mentioned before in my previous paper, my parents taught us how to be independent. They prepared us for life so that when we grow up and be adults, we know how to survive. They also taught us the important of family. That we must love one another because in time no one will help each other or be with each other than family.
The environment has taught me on how to be strong, on how to survive. This is the actual learning, to apply what I have learned in school and what my parents have taught me. I was able to have a lot of experience in my environment. My parents did not deprive me of having to be able to learn outside of the school. My parents gave us their trust and that is very important. Having trust and an open communication...

School
The school has also played a big part in shaping of who I am a leader today. It is where I spent most of my life preparing for myself to be who I am today.  Through the constant reminder of my parents that education is very important and seeing their sacrifices in order for us to have a good education, I promised to myself that I will do my best in school to make them proud.
In pre-school I graduated Salutatorian, in elementary from grade 1 to 6 I was included in the honor roll, I was also very active in sports and other extracurricular activities. In high school, as one of my defining moment I was able to develop my leadership skill when I was the class president and officer of different organization that I was able to bring up to my college days.
I am blessed that my parents did not divest us of our education. They have put us into a private school even if there will be a lot of sacrifices for them to take. They made us choose what school we want and course we want to take up. I am also thankful that I ended up choosing a Catholic University because aside from the formal learning I was also able to learn to have learnt values and be closer to God.
Work Experience
My work experience helped me to improve myself more after College. It is also the ground for you to test and apply what you have doing all these years in school. My experience in work is in Sales and Marketing. It is in this field that has helped me to boost my confidence. Talking to different people of different walks of life, being able to present and convince them of the need for them to avail of the product I'm offering. Being able to have a big contribution in the team/department's success, the feeling is very rewarding and fulfilling.
 Values, Strengths and Weaknesses
A strong foundation from the values taught at home, acquired values from school and in the streets and in the church is what I am holding onto in my everyday life. Family is the most important to me. They are my strength and also my weakness. They are my inspiration. In everything I do, in every decision I will make and in all that I have achieved, I want to make them to be proud of me.
How do they prepare you for your future challenges?
I believe there are no challenges you are not able to overcome if you are aware of yourself, if you know your capabilities, abilities, and strengths and weaknesses. The values you uphold will help you having the right decision. And having your faith in GOD, your family, and your positive attitude will help you to be the authentic leader you are.
